Many of us have big dreams that we carry with us day and night. The big problem is, a dream that has not been brought to reality is as good as no dream at all; meaning if you were to die today, you will take your dream with you to your grave.
The question we need to ask ourselves is: Why is it that most dreams or great inventions end up in a cemetery somewhere unrealized? The answer is, most of us are born to the world that already has rules and conditions created for us even before we are born, and as a result we grow up conditioned to live and behave in a certain way to be considered wise. We live according to the confines of what the society has decided on our behalf; we start benchmarking ourselves with everybody else but ourselves, forgetting that we are all unique to ourselves. No one knows the same information even if you are twins; we all have our own talents.
I am not by any means suggesting we should not have role models that we look up to; all I am saying is look up to them for inspiration and then use your God given talent to reach for the skies. I really believe that very often we do not push hard enough for our dreams to succeed because of what we know. Example:You want to start a business. The first thing that comes to mind is, "I am broke" and just because of the knowing that you are broke you are not even going to try and see other ways of raising the money. This is the mentality for most of us.
It is true that only our self imposed limitations can hold us back from reaching our goals in life. A while back I read a sales book which had a nice illustration of how we get held back from success by our self
imposed barriers. The book had a simple instruction: connect nine dots with four straight lines, without lifting your pencil from the paper. Consider only the asterisks for the nine dots as the fine dots inbetween are used to keep asterisks apart, neat and tidy.I will never forget this illustration. Please try it on your own before reading further.

It seems impossible to connect all nine dots with four straight lines. For you to go beyond such a limitation, you need to think outside the box by realizing that the impossible can be possible when you are willing to let go of what you know and accommodate new possibility ( the what it could be). If you can do this you will realize that just because the dots look rectangular does not necessarily mean you have to connect them to form a rectangle or a square. Each and every time you are faced with a situation, think about this illustration and remember, there is always a solution to the problem and success depends on your ability to look at all sides of the problem
to come up with a solution.
